Skin Exfoliation : Micro Derm Abrasion

Home Dermabrasion is ideal for facial skin exfoliation

Skin exfoliation refers to the process of removing dead skin cells to allow newer, healthier skin cells to become more visible. While skin exfoliation is a naturally occurring process, most skin types can stand some help. Oily skin tends to saturate dead skin cells and makes it difficult for these dead cells to fall off naturally. Dry skin tends to let dead skin cells accumulate too quickly which can make skin look dry and dull. Most people's skin falls somewhere between these two skin types, but unless you have perfectly balanced skin (which is rare) some type of skin exfoliation can be very helpful.

Skin exfoliation (especially facial exfoliation) will generally cause some mild irritation. One must be careful not to exfoliate excessively as it can cause skin that goes beyond irritated to inflamed. However, skin that is exfoliated properly can see a dramatic decrease in visible lines and creases as healthy skin cells are allowed to show through.

There are many methods of facial exfoliation, one of the most popular is a process called Micro Derm Abrasion. Micro dermabrasion generally involves using tiny crystals to loosen and remove dead skin cells. In the beginning, this procedure was only done by plastic surgeons, but many home dermabrasion kits are now available. DermaNew is considered a leader in home micro derm abrasion and provides all the benefits of skin exfoliation in a convenient package.
